Print Templates, Sizes & Bleed

Prepare your artwork confidently, then choose your exact Create Future product and size for its production-specific setup.

Start with your product

General file-preparation advice is useful, but the selected product template is always the final authority.

Artwork setup essentials

Use these general checks to prepare a clean print file. Where a product page or template provides a different instruction, follow that product-specific instruction.

01

Resolution

Use sharp source files at their intended print dimensions. For artwork viewed close up, 300 ppi at final size is the normal working target. Large displays are evaluated at their expected viewing distance.

  • Do not enlarge a low-resolution image after it is made.
  • Use the selected product template before exporting.
02

Vector artwork & images

Vector artwork stays crisp when it is scaled, so it is best for logos, type and simple shapes. Photographs are pixel-based and need enough real resolution at final print size.

  • Preferred vector formats include PDF, AI, EPS and SVG.
  • Keep original high-resolution photos—not web previews.
03

Colour for print

CMYK is the normal colour mode for press artwork. RGB is made for screens and can look more vivid before conversion. Spot colours should be used only when the selected product specifically calls for them.

  • Use a proof when exact brand matching matters.
  • Do not assume a screen colour will match printed ink exactly.
04

Bleed, trim & safe area

Backgrounds should continue past the finished edge; trim is where the item is cut; and key content belongs inside the safe area. The product visualizer below supplies these values only when they are verified.

  • Keep phone numbers, logos and fine type clear of trim.
  • Avoid borders close to the finished edge.
05

Fonts & text

Use clear, readable type and check all spelling before export. Embed fonts in the final PDF or outline them after retaining an editable working copy.

  • Keep important text inside the safe area.
  • Preserve your editable design before converting type to outlines.
06

Transparency & effects

Shadows, fades and transparent objects can render differently after export. Review the final PDF at 100% and use a modern print PDF preset that preserves the effect correctly.

  • Flatten effects only when the requested production workflow requires it.
  • Inspect transparent artwork over coloured areas before submission.
07

Overprint & knockout

Overprint and knockout determine how overlapping inks interact. An unintended overprint can make light-coloured artwork disappear or change colour after printing.

  • Use normal knockout behaviour unless you understand the production purpose.
  • Ask for a preflight review if your artwork uses complex spot colours.
08

Specialty finishes

Foil, raised UV and similar finishes often need their own named layer or companion file that marks only the finished areas. The required file setup depends on the exact product and finish.

  • Use simple, clear finish shapes for the cleanest result.
  • Request the product-specific finish file instructions before upload.
09

Final export & submission

Export a print-ready PDF unless the selected product asks for another format. Before uploading, verify dimensions, page count, bleed, fonts, image quality and the selected product size.

  • Name files clearly with the product and size.
  • A reviewed proof is recommended for important, large-format or specialty work.

Use the selected product setup

Choose the exact product and saved size first. Display hardware, finishing and mounting can change the required artwork area.

Pending protects your artwork

If the catalog does not contain a verified production allowance, this library says so instead of estimating a value that could cause a print issue.

Need a final preflight?

Send your artwork with the product and size selected. Create Future can confirm the correct production file before printing.
